The bus to Montserrat departing from Barcelona where the first stop is Gaudí's spectacular Crypt in the small village of Colònia Güell

The Church was originally intended for and built as a place for the working people from the textile factory owned by Count Eusebi de Güell. They began building in 1908 and Gaudí ended up leaving the project in 1914 when Eusebi de Güell stopped the financing because unfortunately, his business did not go quite as well as expected and The Crypt ended up being the only building which was built but never has been completed.

The Gaudi Crypt was where Gaudí experimented with many architectural solutions which later got him hired to complete the Sagrada Familia

After The Gaudi Crypt the bus takes us to Montserrat, a unique geographical marvel of a mountain of characteristic shape with a distinctive silhouette and with a height of 1235 meters. There is ample opportunity to enjoy the fantastic views over the magnificent countryside.

There are also various hiking routes which you can try out - all from about 45 mins to 2 hours. During the visit, it is possible to view the Royal Basilica and see the wood-sculpture of the Black Madonna and according to the timetable maybe the possibility to listen to La Escolania de Montserrat - which are Europe's oldest boys choir but of course depending on the choir's scheduling which may vary therefore no warranty - but they primarily sing in the afternoon and not during the summer holiday.
